1. Big RC car antenna giving you trouble and can't find anything listed to work on your MR2; oh and you have the three piece spoiler/wing? Swap to the Shark Attack II.

3. Pull back the carpet panel in the trunk. Unplug the antenna cable and wiring harness from the antenna assembly. Then remove the 10mm nut from the bracket.

4. While you are in the trunk there are
two nuts you must remove to take off the side portion of the spoiler/wing. One is up and to the right and the other is up, just to the left of the black trunk lid support in this picture. At the narrow tip of the spoiler piece (rear) there is a friction fitting like a door clip or a push pin, not a nut. To remove this, carefully pull up using your fingertips on the tip.

5. Spoiler/wing end removed. The friction fitting hole is a few inches out of this pic. Remove the shiny nut from the top of the antenna fixture, you can use pliers. Be careful not to slip and scratch the paint.

6. pull the rest of the antenna out of the hole. Now is your chance to to make sure everything is clean so you get a good seal.
7. Put the Shark Attack II into the hole, you can use a dab of silicone if you need reassurance that it will not leak. The included nut looks too small, but it works fine. Position the antenna so that it is straight horizontally when viewed from the front or back of the car.
8. Carefully fit the spoiler piece back
over the antenna (be aware that the metal studs need to line up with the holes in the body (they will scratch paint), push in the friction fitting first then tighten the nuts. Again if you are uncomfortable you can put a dab of silicone at the spoiler/wing holes to guarantee a water tight seal.

9. The factory rubber grommet works fine, fits snug against the new
antenna mast.
10. According to schematics, the Green/Black wire is the Antenna Power wire. You can see a scotch loc used for the connection of the Shark Attack's red power to the existing power wire; also the installer chose to include a male and female spade for easy disconnect down the road. Check with a voltmeter or test light to make sure it gets power when the radio is on and nothing when the radio is off.
There you go, button everything up and enjoy your antenna. The look is clean and modern.
Notice the JDM kouki Tail Lights, nice.
Shark antenna looks good too.
